85 House Democrats Are Demanding Trump’s Removal — Hours After He Stopped a War They Couldn’t Even Vote On

Imagine you’re a firefighter. You just pulled a family of four out of a burning building. You’re standing there covered in soot, the kids are crying into their mom’s arms, and some guy in a suit walks up and says “we need to talk about your tone when you kicked down that door.”

That’s the Democratic Party right now. Except the building is the entire Middle East, the family is the global economy, and the guy in the suit is Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez demanding impeachment papers while the embers are still hot.

Just two hours after President Trump secured a two-week ceasefire with Iran that sent oil prices plummeting, markets soaring, and oil tankers flying through the Strait of Hormuz — more than 85 House Democrats had formally called for Trump to be impeached or removed via the 25th Amendment. Eighty-five elected members of Congress looked at a man who just stopped a war and said “yeah, that guy needs to go.”

Let’s rewind the tape for a second, because the sheer hypocrisy here needs to be savored slowly, like a fine wine.

For the past week, Democrats have been calling Trump “unhinged,” “dangerous,” and “mentally unfit” because of his rhetoric toward Iran. When he said “a whole civilization will die tonight,” they clutched their pearls so hard they left marks. NPR ran segments about “alarming presidential language.” CNN had a panel of four people agreeing that Trump had lost his mind. MSNBC probably had a grief counselor on standby.

Mind you, this is exactly the kind of language Iran has been using for decades to talk about the West. They have been saying since I was a boy that they will destroy the West and that they will kill every last one of us and take revenge with Allah’s blessing. But I digress…

Iran capitulated. The rhetoric worked. The deadline produced results. The scary words led to a ceasefire.

And Democrats didn’t pause for even one second to reconsider whether maybe — just maybe — they had misjudged the situation. Nope. They doubled down.

AOC said the ceasefire “changes nothing.” Think about that. A ceasefire in a shooting war between the United States and a nation of 90 million people “changes nothing” in her mind. American troops are safer. Oil is flowing. Markets are recovering. Families can stop worrying about $7 gas. But none of that matters because Orange Man said something mean on the internet.

Senator Ed Markey — a man who has been in Congress since the Reagan administration and has accomplished roughly as much as a decorative plant in a dentist’s office — released a statement saying he’s “glad” about the ceasefire but that Trump “can’t simply threaten war crimes with impunity.” He then demanded Congress reconvene to “stop this war” — the war that just stopped — and remove Trump from office.

This is like demanding the fire department be defunded while they’re rolling up the hoses.

Here’s what makes this so infuriating. These 85 Democrats didn’t vote to authorize this military action. They didn’t vote to stop it, either. They didn’t propose a single piece of legislation offering an alternative strategy. They didn’t negotiate. They didn’t call allies. They didn’t do a single thing that could remotely be described as “governing.”

What they did was write letters. They held press conferences. They went on cable news. They posted on social media. They performed outrage for the cameras while the actual work of preventing World War III was being done by someone else.

And now that it worked, they want credit for being “concerned” while simultaneously demanding the removal of the guy who actually got it done.

Let’s be honest about what’s really happening here. Democrats know that a successful Trump foreign policy is an existential threat to their 2026 midterm strategy. Their entire playbook is built on the idea that Trump is a chaos agent who makes everything worse. A ceasefire in the Middle East, falling oil prices, a stock market rally, and the possible framework for long-term peace with Iran? That’s not just inconvenient for them — it’s catastrophic.

So they have to pretend it didn’t happen. Or that it doesn’t count. Or that the method was so offensive that the result is irrelevant. “Sure, he ended the conflict, but did you hear what he SAID?”

Meanwhile, Senator Ruben Gallego — one of the few Democrats with actual military service — managed to squeeze out a grudging acknowledgment that “stopping war is good” before pivoting to criticism. That was the high-water mark of Democratic grace on Tuesday. One guy said peace is generally preferable to war. Somebody get him a participation trophy.

The American people aren’t stupid. They can see what’s happening. They watched gas prices spike because Iran closed the Strait. They watched the President draw a line. They watched Iran blink. They watched prices start to come down. And they watched 85 Democrats respond to all of it by trying to remove the President.

This is the same party that shut down the Department of Homeland Security for 48 days, threw themselves a victory parade when they got nothing they asked for, and now wants you to believe they’re the adults in the room.

The 25th Amendment exists for Presidents who are incapacitated — not for Presidents whose negotiating style makes Washington insiders uncomfortable. Using it because you don’t like someone’s tweets isn’t governance. It’s a tantrum with a constitutional veneer.

Eighty-five of them. Remember that number. Remember it in November. Because those 85 people just told you exactly where their priorities are — and stopping wars isn’t on the list.
